About Us

Animal Rescue Rigs (ARR) is a program of Animal Rescue Association of America, an IRS recognized 501(c)(3) organization/charity designed to work closely with an automotive manufacturer to provide an emergency vehicle for animal rescue during natural disasters in the U.S. In addition to its primary mission, ARR strives to create a sense of community by encouraging outreach and education at local adoption events, auto shows and automotive dealer outreach.

In the case of an emergency or natural disaster, like the fires and mudslides in California, teams of volunteers would coordinate with a local animal rescue groups to provide a vehicle loan that would assist with the situation at hand.

Hurricane Floyd caused 2.9 million pet and livestock deaths, and thousands more owners lost their pets. The aftermath of Hurricane Katrina was particularly devastating. The Louisiana SPCA estimates that 15,500 animals required rescue and that 80 to 85 percent of these animals were never reunited with their owners.

The best chance that any animal has of survival is a human. But we need the to tools to deploy and brings them home. Animal Rescue Rigs is one of those tools to extricate animals from disaster areas and bring them to safety.
