Meet The Dogs

BENTLEY
Bentley was an owner surrender who lived an outdoor life and is acclimating to being an indoor dog. He is 7 months old, loves kids and dogs. He is social and sweet. Loves to kill all the toys.

CORAZON (CORA) AND HER 7 PUPPIES:
This little family was one of many litters that needed to get to safety. Found in rural southern Missouri, they made their way to Omaha. Corazon got her name because she has a few heart shaped spots. The puppies will be between 8 and 9 weeks when they travel.

LIAM AKA CHONK
Chonk was rescued with his brother many months ago. His brother got adopted but no one was interested in him. He was the star of his transport north to Nebraska. Very good natured and loving. LOVES other dogs.

ALFIE
Alfie came to BBRH as a potential hospice foster due to chronic coughing. He came in with pneumonia. Once he recovered, he was put on an OTC allergy med and his coughing almost went away! He is an energetic senior who loves toys, fetch, treats and morning snuggles.

MACK
5-year-old Mack found himself homeless in southern Missouri. Once he was done living on the streets, our rescue partners helped him get up to Omaha. He was someone’s pet since he is crate and house trained. Gets along great with dogs and has stolen the hearts of his foster family.

CLYDE
A crazy combination of basset and border collie! He has the legs of a basset and the energy and drive of a BC. He, like so many, was homeless in Missouri. He gets along with dogs and loves to play with toys, either by himself or a convenient human.

LILLY
Lilly, only 20 lbs and 4 years old, and her 5 puppies were surrendered to a rescue that didn’t have a whelping foster home. She was chained up outside with little shelter and a family to take care of. She is your typical teen mom, still acts like a puppy. Lilly was an excellent mommy and is now ready to bask in all the attention. And boy does she like attention.

HARLEY
Harley, under 1 year, was surrendered with 3 other related beagles. His family tree is a little convoluted. His claim to fame is being able to jump straight up onto counters! He loves dogs and people and appreciates a lot of playtime.

BRI
Previously adopted from BBRH, Bri came back into rescue through no fault of her own. She is 17lbs of pure senior sass. She is house and crate trained. Gets along with dogs, cats and kids. She has some allergies so eats a fish based diet.

MAGGIE
Maggie was part of a litter BBRH rescued this summer. She was already given away but now needs help finding her forever family. She is about 6 to 8 months old and doing great. Loves snuggles and other dogs. She is joy in dog form.

SUMMER
Probably the most scared beagle we are sending west. Summer lost her beloved mom recently and came back to BBRH. At first, she is very scared of people but with love and some patience she becomes a very snuggly girl. She might be more work initially, but the reward of her love is worth it.

Plus the PUPPIES
BENNY, PEARL, PENNY, PIPER, POPPY, PENELOPE and PEANUT

SOPHIE
This petite 8-month-old beagle was transferred to Basset and Beagle Rescue of the Heartland from a Kansas City shelter. She loves other dogs and snuggles, and food. She is working hard on house manners and her foster reports that she is a gem and a keeper.

NED
At 2 years old and under 20 lbs, Ned is a perfect little gentleman ready to steal your heart. He was transferred to BBRH from the same shelter as Sophie. He loves to follow his nose and play with the other beagles before he crashes snuggled in blankets.
